Welcome to the 21 Course home page.

In January  1967 seventy two eager and enthusiastic young men aged 15 -17  arrived at the RAAF base at Laverton, Victoria,  Australia, to commence training to become Radio Technicians.

For many of us it was the first time away from home. We  came from many different backgrounds and it is safe to say that it was an  enormous  experience for us all.
In those first few days we had to adapt to a way of life that was vastly different to anything most of us had experienced before. We had to adapt to living in close proximity to 71 others who were all part of the same experience.
We didn't stay strangers for long Within those first few days new friendships were formed and in many cases those friendships still stand. For many the first weeks were difficult for many reasons but it was somehow made a lot easier by the spirit of mateship. After all, we were all in the same situation

The purpose of these pages is to provide information on those young men ( now 52 years older ) and to allow them to contact each other ( if they want to.).

Please follow the link to the  list of names of the original starters .
If any of you ex 21 course Members out there (or anyone else) know the whereabouts of  any others whose names are  on the list, please forward their contact information to:
